So how did you fare in week three? If you took my advice on the Start 'em picks of Warner, Favre or Gore; than you should have fared well. I would only grade my total starts at about a C. But if you took my advice on the sits, than you definitely had a good week. Every other site told you to start McNabb, the leading rusher Fast Willie Parker, stud receiver Plaxico "I aint gotta call nobody" Burress and Kellen Win-SLOW. I had the sack to tell you to sit the studs. How did I know? Let's just say I do my homework.
So now let me make up for my miss in week three. I am giving you solid, sure fire starts for week four. I also have a fresh group of people to sit, that EVERYONE else will be telling you to start. Remember, the basis of my picks are to give you starts that others wouldn't think of and sits that are usually must-starts. If everyone else is reading the same spew that you are, how will you ever get an edge? Let Dex help you out.
QB
Start'em
JaMarcus Russell, Oakland vs San Diego - 200 YDs and 3 Total TD
Don't laugh. Yeah, I said to start Russell. You will see him find the end zone three times in the rally cry for Lane Kiffen. Oakland needs to avenge the embarrassing home opener loss, save their coaches job and play from behind against an angry San Diego team. Fortunately for you, anger won't improve their horrid pass defense. Let your friends laugh at you as you look like a genius.
Other Favorable Match up - McNabb @ Chicago (bounce back game)
Sit'em
Drew Brees, New Orleans vs San Francisco - 240 YDs, 1TD and 2 INT
This is purely a hunch. I know what your thinking. Sit him for who...Brian Griese...Jason Campbell? The answer is yes. Have some balls and make the tough choice. Hey, maybe you also have Russell and old Dex can help you out with a double play. Make sure your buddy has a mouth full of food when you tell him you're sitting Brees for Russell/Campbell/Griese. Let him choke on his laughter at your champion like decision.
RB
Start'em
MJD, Jax vs Houston - 160 Total YDs and 2 TD
This is the MJD you drafted in the second round. Personally, I hate him in the fourth round, but I love him against a terrible Houston team. I know he had a big game last week. He will be bigger with 25 touches on the ground and in the air.
Other Favorable Match up - Selvin Young @ KC
Sit'em
Matt Forte, Chicago vs Philly - 85 Total YDs
I really like Forte. He looks like a four-year pro. Philly will feed him his worst game as a pro and stuff him for 85 yards, but only 55 on the ground. This is a tough sit with a guy averaging 28 touches a game. Playing from behind will drop his total touches to 18-20.
WR
Start'em
Braylon Edwards, Cleveland @ Cincy - 130 YDs and 2 TD
Starts that others wouldn't think of...huh Dex? I know, Braylon is a stud. But let's face it, he has been a bust in '08. Well watch him bust out against a Bungal team he has tortured for 190 and 4 TD over his last two days. Even Ocho Cinco may ask for an autograph after this performance.
Other Favorable Match up - Lee Evans @ St. Loses
Sit'em
Hines Ward, Pitt vs Baltimore - 45 YDs
I feel sorry for Big Ben. He will get pummelled for the second week in a row and Ward owners will feel the pain. Hey, he's the best blocking WR in football. Too bad it doesn't count in my fantasy life.
TE
Start'em
Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City vs Denver - 65 YDs and 1 TD
Ahhh...the Tony G of old. With Huard back in at QB, Tony G will get 12-14 passes toward him. He will find the end zone for the second time this year.
Other Favorable Matchup - Chris Cooley @ Dallas
Sit'em
Tony Scheffler, Denver @ Kansas City - 30 YDs
The youngster will watch his team rout the Chiefs. He will also watch a clinic from the elder Tony. Don't listen to the mainstream sites, sit Tony this week.
Good Luck and see you next week!
