Hot Reads: Let's Go Camping


Every Friday morning, The EndzoneView will bring you all of the injuries, hold out updates, depth chart changes and more of the past week during training camp of all 32 NFL teams.


Arizona Cardinals
-The Arizona Republic reports that an extension for QB Kurt Warner is still not close
-starting NT Gabe Watson looks like he might start training camp on the PUP list
-Per agent Drew Rosenhaus, WR Anquan Boldin will show for training camp

Atlanta Falcons
-per the Atlanta Journal Constitution, WR Joe Horn will attend training camp to fight for a roster spot.....or his release
-unless signed in the next 24 hours, rookies OL Sam Baker and LB Curtis Lofton will be camp holdouts

Baltimore Ravens
-QB Troy Smith will vie with rookie QB Joe Flacco to be the Ravens starter, relegating QB Kyle Boller to 3rd string. Remember Stoney Case? Anybody?
-The Ravens have no interest in obtaining QB Brett Favre per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
-pending franchise player LB Terrell Suggs reportedly will not report to camp until close to Week 1

Buffalo Bills
-QB Trent Edwards blindside tackle, Jason Peters is expected to hold out of training camp
-rookie WR James Hardy has signed

Carolina Panthers
-no news regarding RB Jonathan Stewart's contract negotiations which is slowly becoming a concern
-The Rock Hill Herald reports that the Panthers have claimed recently waived OT Charles Spencer

Chicago Bears
-The Chicago Sun Times reported that WR Devin Hester is willing to hold out the entire season
-With WR Devin Hester missing in action, Marty Booker is lining up across from Brandon Lloyd as the starting WR's. Good luck with that.
-Head coach Lovie Smith used a coin flip to determine which QB would get the first snap in training camp. Good luck with that.
-rookie WR Earl Bennett is impressing coaches early (but most rookies are)
-rookie LT Chris Williams hurt his back yesterday in drills
-UPDATE: Devin Hester has reported to training camp

Cincinatti Bengals
-Head coach Marvin Lewis does not want to entertain the thought of a WR Chris Henry return to Cincinatti
-bengals.com reports that Kenny Watson is ahead of Chris Perry on the RB depth chart

Cleveland Browns
-GM Phil Savage is talking up RB Jerome Harrison as a 3rd down RB per the Cleveland Plain Dealer
-WR Donte Stallworth is already hurt with a pulled hamstring
-OL Ryan Tucker and WR Joe Jurevicius will begin training camp on the PUP list

Dallas Cowboys
-WR Terry Glenn did not make the trip with the team to Oxnard for training camp per the Dallas Morning News

Denver Broncos
-The Denver Post reports that WR Brandon Marshall had a 2-1/2 hour meeting with Commissioner Goodell as a prelude to a most likely forthcoming suspension
-ESPN reports that WR Rod Smith has retired
-rookie WR Eddie Royal has signed
-former RB and current FB Mike Bell is now a former Bronco

Detroit Lions
-Adam Schefter of NFL.com has reported that the Lions have extended CB Leigh Bodden
-LB Ernie Sims will start training camp on the PUP list
-rookie LB Caleb Campbell is being recalled by the Army to active duty per Mlive.com

Green Bay Packers
-guess who's number they won't be retiring Week 1?
-RB Ryan Grant won't be in attendance for the start of camp

Houston Texans
-The Houston Chronicle reports that head coach Gary Kubiak does not want to throw the ball 30-35 times a game. RB Ahman Green and RB Chris Brown will probably change his mind.
-rookie RB Steve Slaton is signed

Indianapolis Colts
-profootballtalk.com has reported that the Colts have signed QB Quinn Gray
-Adam Schefter reported that the Colts have signed QB Jared Lorenzen
-rookie RB Mike Hart is signed

Jacksonville Jaguars
-The Florida Times Union reports that head coach Jack Del Rio expects WR Jerry Porter to be ready for Week 1
-In a possibily related story, Jack Del Rio will not cut WR Matt Jones quite yet

Kansas City Chiefs
-rookie DT Glenn Dorsey looks like he will be a holdout
-rookie RB Jamaal Charles has signed
-rookie OT Brandon Albert has signed

Miami Dolphins
-The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that the Dolphins plan on easing RB Ronnie Brown into training camp (after deciding against the "no holds bar, throw caution to the wind approach, full contact" approach)
-The Palm Beach Post reports that the agent for rookie QB Chad Henne expects a deal to be consummated today

Minnesota Vikings
-is there anything else going on besides Brett Favre tampering charges. Not yet, no.

New England Patriots
-rookie LB Jerod Mayo has signed
-WR Wes Welker will start training camp on the PUP list
-TE Ben Watson is a restricted participant at training camp

New Orleans Saints
-TE Jeremy Schockey passes his physical and officially becomes a Saint.
-LB Jonathan Vilma looked good in his first practice
-RB Deuce McAllister is healthy and ready for training camp

New York Giants
-RB Brandon Jacobs will play out his last year of his contract. Ah money, the great motivator
-WR Plaxico Burress showed for training camp. Ah money, the great motivator
-RB Derrick Ward is ready for training camp after breaking his leg last year

New York Jets
-TE Chris Baker is starting training camp on the PUP list but is happy his agent and the Jets are talking
-Newday reports the Jets and LB Vernon Gholston have agreed to a contract
-rookie TE Dustin Keller has signed

Oakland Raiders
-WR Javon Walker is at training camp, but is limited per the SF Chronicle
-WR Ronald Curry is also limited
-future former Raider RB Lamont Jordan is not at training camp (yet)
-Raiders signed fomer Chiefs S Greg Wesley to a one year contract per Adam Scheftler of NFL.com


Philadelphia Eagles
-The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that OL Shawn Andrews is not at camp due to personal issues and not a contract dispute.
-QB Kevin Kolb looks to be second on the depth chart
-RB Brian Westbrook and CB Lito Sheppard showed for the first day of training camp

Pittsburgh Steelers
-rookie RB Rashard Mendenhall is still not signed

San Diego Chargers
-WR Eric Parker has been released
-TE Antonio Gates will start training camp on PUP and is questionable to start the season
-QB Philip Rivers is an active participant in training camp
-DE Luis Castillo signed a five year extension

San Francisco 49ers
-per the Sacramento Bee, rookie DL Kentwan Balmer has signed a contract

Seattle Seahawks
-WR Bobby Engram is expected at training camp

St Louis Rams
-OT Orlando Pace will start training camp on the PUP list
-2nd overall pick DE Chris Long has signed a contract

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-As expected, RB Carnell Williams will begin the year on the PUP list
-QB Chris Simms revealed that GM Bruce Allen inquired with him in regards to how quickly he felt Brett Favre could learn the playbook. (Not sure why you would confide in a player that is unhappy with the organization, but maybe that's how they do things in Tampa)

Tennessee Titans
-The Albert Haynesworth watch is on

Washington Redskins
-if you didn't know by now, DE Jason Taylor is a Redskin
-rookie WR Devin Thomas is carted off the field with a hamstring injury
-rooke WR Malcolm Kelley has a chance to start this season according to the Washington Post
